Part time support care for birth families

Short breaks

Part-time foster carers provide planned sleepovers for children who are living at home with their birth families. You will provide a child or children with one to three night breaks every few weeks to enjoy a safe and nurturing environment while developing independent skills.  This short break will support families to become stronger and better able to manage the complexities of daily life.

Most support care agreements last between six and twelve months.

Shared Care

Shared care requires part-time foster carers to have at least one free weekend every six weeks . This is to give a child a regular break from their birth family and develop their independence while also allowing the parents a reprieve. Carers offer a weekend sleepover creating a fun environment, somewhere they can enjoy new experiences and activities.
